Sweeper and SAG Support

September 21, 2011 – 6:03 pm

Your Tour de Troit will be supported by 54 sweepers and nine SAG vehicles. Please listen to these guys and gals, as they are experienced cyclists with specific instructions — like keeping all riders to the right of the road, for example! They are also prepared to change any flats or do minor repairs on the road. If your bike takes a dump, they will call you a SAG vehicle.

What’s a SAG vehicle? SAG means support and gear. A SAG wagon will take you and your bike back to Roosevelt Park if you are unable to complete the ride. A SAG vehicle is not a shuttle, which means it will have to be full of bikes and riders before it makes the trip back to the starting line.

Our ride support includes Wheelhouse Detroit Bike Shop, The Hub of Detroit, American Cycle and Fitness, Detroit Bicycle Co., Suicide Squad, Michigan Trails  & Greenways Alliance, Southwest Bike Club, the Corktown Pheasants Futbol Club and numerous individuals that simply love to ride and like to help others.

Please be kind to your ride support volunteers!
